Deranged Soviet forces Contessa ChiChi to surface over Novak Djokovic win!!

Ay-yi-YI!

Amigos!  What a pickle thees Australian Open win by Novak Djokovic has put me in!  ('Specially since I haven't written an iota about Raffie since middle of last year!)  I'm surfacing today from undercover assignment for the courtesy of sharing in the elation that my good friend Deranged Soviet is obviously feeling over Djokovic's second Australian Open win! As many of you know, Deranged Soviet ees an ardent supporter and admirer of Djokovic.  Now I must say, as disappointed as I was that my Raffie could not go on to win thees event because of hees injury, Djokovic put on a stellar show of hees prowess, confidence and enviable six-pack. And, hees tennis-playing was spectacular, too, si?  I should add, the only distraction being thees loud roars, audible sighs, limbs akimbo, and the possible dreaded show of lachrymal extrusion.  But I'll leave it to the British press to cover Andy Murray.

Now, eet's true I've been as busy as a 'possum rounding up her kids these past months, some details of which I am not at liberty to speak about here, but suffice to say, for a momento, every body and I do mean every bod-y has cornered or treed me over this necessary hiatus - insinuating - yes - insinuating that me & Ruffie broke up last summer over some stoo-pid swimsuit that he hates!!   THIS IS SIMPLY NOT TRUE!!!  I will never be seen in thees fishwear again, contrary to thees rumor running rampant in the tennis world.  Ay-yi-yi!

Wearing thees one has dogged me ever since I put eet on.  The first time Ruffie saw me in it we were at the beach. I was covered up in my beautiful shag rug robe.  When it came time to join Ruffie and the fishes in the ocean, I approached Ruffie in my best fashion runway stunner-look saunter, with my paws clenching thees sides folded across the front of me and when I came within a few feet of heem, I flung open my robe a la Demi Moore to show him my beautiful fishwear with matching goggles...  and..  and... thees is so difficult for me, si?.. when a look of horror came over Rafa's face..  like he was looking at an old geezer throwing his coat wide open to expose himself..  and.. (gasp).. I just knew it then - he hated my swimsuit  - with a passion!!  Like tennis passion!  I ran back to our blanket confused, hurt and burnt, tripped over thees lounge chair - and proceeded to bury, si bury, my head in the sand, literally.  Which totally smudged my mascara and matted my beautiful fur coat.  So that didn't last longer than a minute.  Ruffie, as always, was a perfect gentleman (after he composed himself). He put his arm around me, then told me he would still love me even if I wore a peeled-back sardine can for a bathing suit. See?  Thees is why I adore Rafa!  He loves me for who I am. I am a fur ball.  And an adorable one at that!  I can't change what I am.  I swore then, and I'll swear now,  I'll never ever ever wear that fishwear again.  And I mean it!  So, hopefully now I've put thees 'they broke up! they broke up!' rumors to rest..

..and now I'm off to drink a toast with my friend, Deranged Soviet, and other tennis friends who are celebrating Novak's Aussie win!  I think Novak's most dedicated admirer has to be Deranged Soviet.  Not only does Deranged Soviet love heem as a baller, but thinks he's hot, too!

I feel a better player now
because physically I'm stronger,
I'm faster and mentally I'm
more motivated.

Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the Music! \o/ Rafa Nadal wins 5th Rome Masters title!

HOLA!!  Just got in from Rome!  We're very, very happy about thees win, amigos.  Ruffie has now attained Aggi's record of 17 Masters titles!  Thees is so mind-blowing, given hees young age.  Aggi was in hees 30's when he attained this record.

How do you like my tan?

Ruffie took thees pic.  He says
thees is my best tan, ever!  (I almost
let it slip that my best tan ever - I got
in El Paso! *Rome* sounds so much
better, si?)

Rafa won against David Ferrer 7-5 6-2 but just 'tween me and you,
I think Ferrer presented a challenge for Rafa.  There were some real
outstanding rally's and points won by Dah-vid.

And you should know I hate it when it rains and the match is suspended.
Thees kind of interruptions in play can throw a baller off his game!

I hate it when I gets my fur wet.  And I hate rain hitting my face and blurring
my vision.  But don worry, I come up with really neat solution.  hee hee

(Ruffie thought it was a little over the top.
HA. Men!)

Contessa ChiChi's Speech at Boastmaster Kennel Klub

[We join Contessa ChiChi as she wraps up her speech at the Boastmaster Kennel Klub..]

..thees is why we must act, and act NOW my dear Dams and Sires! I strongly urge your support on behalf of my Rafa, and for the world at-large, of course! We can not simply dismiss what happened to Samson's strength when that she-dog cut off hees hair! Samson could not keep the pillars up in thees temple to save the people! He lost his strength when hees hair was cut off while he slept!!!

So! Make that call! Call Rafa's sponsors. Tell them that Contessa ChiChi has discovered why her dahlink Rafa is losing some matches. Insist they consider that when Rafa gave up hees own sleeveless tees and pirate pants that's when Rafa's troubles began!!! So you see? Rafa's fans should start voicing their solidarity with a catchy little slogan like,.. like.. these: TennisMasters cut off Rafa's Samson hair! No mo' Samson hair cuts!! Give Rafa his clothes back!! Give back Rafa's hair!! Don't make Rafa wear a fake hair wig!! [crowd roars in unison: Give Rafa his clothes back!! Bring Rafa back wearing sleeveless tees! Bring back the pirate pants!! Rah! Rah!]

You GO, guys! Sing it! Ring it! Don't wing it! [clap! clap! clap! Crowd roars!] Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone! ! Thanks for having me!! [encore roars up from the crowd - but Contessa ChiChi has left the room!]

Later..

Wait a minute.. what's wrong with Contessa ChiChi? Rafa never wore a fake hair wig in his life!

Nadal's Recipe for the 'Good Life'

Hi! I ees back again..back from many adventures. Yes. Here I ees after another Rafa & Contessa's Most Excellent Adventures. But first..
Everybody always askin' Ruffie the secret to his success with 30 Titles and 6 Grand Slams under his belt; in light of his totally unforeseen defeat at the French Open this year, it comes down to hees humility and mental strength. Ruffie points out that "one needs defeat to give value to your victories". I understand hees way of thinking. Contessa ChiChi alway say one has to die in order to give value to Life. If we all live forever, Life would lose it's meaning. We would take so many things for granted. Rafa ees so centered and sensible. Yes. We agree on everything. Well, mostly.. Recently we be locking horns over fashion. Really.

RAFA NADAL Nominated for LAUREUS Award - For WORLD Sportsman of the Year

My one-of-a-kind sports marvel, Rafa Nadal, has been nominated for the Laureus World Sports Award for winning the French Open, Wimbledon and Olympic gold medal to become tennis Numero Uno! Camino por recorrer, Rafa! Si, glad you asked. The sport's world has its own equivalent to the film industry's Academy Awards, in the annual Laureus World Sports awards ceremony. Sports media from 112 countries make the nominations and the winners will be selected in a secret ballot by 46 supersportstars, members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, including John McEnroe, Nadia Comaneci and Jack Nicklaus. The Awards are usually presented at an annual Awards Ceremony but this year's ceremony has been scrapped because of the global financial crisis, so the winners of this year's Laureus World Sports Awards will be receiving their Awards individually at a series of presentations during May and June.
"It seemed to us, with so many people suffering, that this was the wrong time to be staging this event," Edwin Moses, chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy, said in a statement. "This is the responsible thing to do."
Nadal goes up against the likes of :
  • Usain Bolt from Jamaica, the first man to win 100m, 200m and 4x100m Olympic gold medals in world records.
  • Lewis Hamilton from the UK, the youngest ever Formula One World Champion at 23 years and 300 days.
  • Michael Phelps of the US, who won 8 gold medals in a single Olympiad to overtake Mark Spitz's record.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal, FIFA World Player of the Year, scored 42 goals for Manchester United.
  • Valentino Rossi of Italy, who beat Giacomo Agostini's record 68 500cc wins, and won 6th senior world title.
(These names were taken off Rafa's website..:)

Andy Murray wins his first Semi on clay - will play Rafa Nadal

Andy Murray, looking good, after reaching your first semi-final on clay. Big day for Murray - wins match against Italy's Fabio Fognini 7-6 (13-11), 6-4 in morning game and then caps the day by winning the match with Nikolay Davydenko 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 late evening. Match set. Murray vs. Rafa. Tomorrow. Be there, or rawrrrrrrrr! VAMOS RAFA!

I'M BACK ! I'M BACK! - Another Adventure Meets Me Head On!

Si, Si! It's really me! Contessa ChiChi is returned to the Peoples! After a hairy escape from the winter doldrums to meet up with my Rafa at his matches these past weeks. Oh, my! Win some, lose some. He takes the good with the bad. He's always up and positive about life. He learns from his loses and just strives to do better the next time. And hey! Rafa is in good form - si, si - and raring to add many wins to his credit throughout the year. Okay! Okay! So much has happened to me since I last wrote you,, remember my Bro Rascal who almost died from congestive heart failure? Well, he acts like hee's brand new now. I mean, it's kinda creepy.. really. It seems like just yesterday that I had to grab and pull Rascal away from the Pearly Gates! Now he looks great. He can pretty much do what he feels comfortable doing, like going up stairs, jumping on the furniture, playing ball, although at a much less strenuous pace than before, and jazz like that. Except - wow - is he ever p*ssed over not being able to play Frisbee anymore. It's his most favorite thing to do, for cripe sake! I was really going nutz trying to do everything that needed to be done - and jeezes! I never saw so many pills in all my life. Ay-yi-yi!! Rascal's ranged from teeny-weeny to the size of a June bug. No, I swear! He takes 7 pills twice a day hidden in slabs of roast beef and chicken chunks. I was making homemade food for him, too. Rushing him to and fro, here and there, round and round I go! It got a little crazy there for awhile.. that's why I had to get away for a while... Photo by askcorran

You may know El Bribon as..

BATDOG! ..shhh ..don't tell noone you heard it from Contessa ChiChi.. Rascal is undercover.. as in covert. So, don't blow it for heem ! Zeep de leeps. shhhhh..

Contessa ChiChi hearts FurBro

Ay-yi-yi, mis queridos lectores! Si, I've been away for some time. Ay-yi-yi. Mi hermano, el Bribón, ha estado enfermo. *sigh* Si. My brother, Rascal, has been sick. He had surgery 2 weeks ago to remove some lumps and bumps that coulda been cancer, but then he got seecker and seecker with thees dry hacking coughs and shallow breathing. Then, he got worse so the humanoids had to take heem to the ER for Furkinds. He been there for a coupla days and all this while I's been there for heem. Thees ees my Bro when he is very well. Hees very handsome, si? He holds the record for highest Frisbee jump in Contessa ChiChi's family! He's the famous Rascal. Survived a Copperhead snake strike, too, when he was littler, like a boy. That stupid snake bit my Bro in the face 3 times! I would have smackered that doofus in the chops but he slithered away just like a coward!! His face looked like a balloon. You theenk I'm kidding!? See for yourself, then! (grr..) Mi Bro-by hurt so much for so long. Broked my heart in 2, too! And now, hees hurting again. He has too many troubles now.
  1. Congestive heart failure due to advanced mitral value regurgitation.
  2. Moderately severe pulmonary hypertension.
  3. Decreased left ventricular function.
  4. Syncopal episodes associated with heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
Thees ees my Bro while he was in the Furkind hospital. Dunno 'boutchu, but thees doctors either have crazy idea about healing in outer space - or - hees reely spaced out. See what I mean? Because of all thees excitement with mi brother, I missed a lot of Rafa's matches, but he's so thoughtful and understanding. He said he would have liked to be weeth me through thees ordeal and called me everyday to inquire about mi hermano. Meanwhile, Rafa has just given Spain some breathing room with a 2-0 lead at the Davis Cup tournament in Benidrom. He beat Jarko Tipsarevic in 3 sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-2 at "Terra Mitica" park for his home fans! He put Tipsarevic away in little more than an hour and a half. You go, Rafa! Vamos Rafa! Rafa, you win for Spain and I'll win for el Bribón! Y buena suerte a ambos de nosotros!!

I'm inconsolable *sob* Loss is always difficult

I.. I.. I just.. I'm having trouble finding the words to express the loss.. of dear *sob* Loki! Such a beautiful friend of all Chis everywhere. My own heart goes out to Mickey Rourke with love and sadness over the loss of his beloved companion, Loki. Look at that face. That is a face that begs to be licked. Si. Smothered in licks and slobber. If only for the reason Loki is Chi, si? Let me just tell you, Chis are the best* of all furkinds. Chis are: Alert a la "Contessa ChiChi" "Peanut"-sized Graceful Swift-moving Saucy Observant Bold Adorable Spunky Protective Mischievous Social High-strung Endowed with unique personalities (heh heh - not a chi) Intelligent Loyal Moody Playful Arrogant Sweet-tempered Quintessential Furkind *[The very best of all furkinds are Rat Terriers for which I have been blessed to have in my blood line *sniff, sniff*] So Mickey, please accept my heart-felt condolences over your loss of your Beloved Loki. You can find much comfort in knowing that you gave her the best life she could possibly have on earth by your constant love, care, and kindness, not only towards her, but all her furfriends as well! Says Rourke: "Loki is deeply missed but with me in spirit. I feel very blessed that she fell asleep peacefully in my arms." My Rafa suffered a loss, too, when he lost his last match to Murray, but this loss pales in comparison to Rourke losing his Loki. For me, reverence for all living creatures will always surpass the loss of a game. I can't speak for Rafa personally, but this man Rafa doesn't even like bull fights, one of his country's sports, so I think in my heart he would agree with me. Rafa can always make up for his lost match. We can never 'make up' for loss of Life. Truth. But, theese ees just Contessa ChiChi telling it like it is. Mwah, mwah. [That's licks to you humanoids, k? hee hee] Now - for something sweet: Farewell, Loki.. We will miss you, simpatico!

Whew! Rafa Nadal Squeaks Through to Semi-Final after Beating Tsonga Friday

Whew! Rafa is definitely getting a workout on the courts at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam; his path to the quarters not being an easy one. Both Simone Bolello of Italy and Grigor Dimitrov pushed Rafa to the third set; the last set with Dimitrov lasting 2 and 1/2 hours. Rafa had trouble picking up his rhythm because Grigor played fast and hard, leaving Rafa with the impression that Dimitro is headed to the Top 10. His win, 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, against Frenchman Jo-Wilifried Tsonga's 26 aces today also pushed Rafa the distance to a third set; he took the opening set but Tsonga fought back to win the second set on a tiebreak, but he couldn't put pressure on Rafa's serve in the decider and Rafa clinched victory on his first match point giving him the win which takes Rafa into the Semi-Finals where he'll take on Gael Monfils who beat his fellow Frenchman Julien Benneteau 7-6, 6-1. I chuckled when Rafa told me, "Tsonga has an unbelievable good service. It was really heavy," because it doesn't mean anything if my Ruffie wins the match regardless, riiiiight!?! *Rawrrrrrr*

Rafaku by Contessa ChiChi

Rafaku = Rafa Haiku
Rafa Nadal is the Quintessential Sportsman- role model for youth.

Rafa Nadal is just awesome at Aussie!

Rafa began the Australian Open in awesome fashion (no pun intended, you know how I feel about his new sexy Nikes, NOT!) by trouncing Belgium Christophe Rochus who had a hard time just getting on the scoreboard until the 9th game. Rafa squashed Rochus in one hour and 17 minutes with a 6-0, 6-2, 6-2 win! My Rafa is playing sooooo good and his knee is well, thankyouverymuch! After the match, we went out to eat; we started with tapas, then had espinagades (yeech, I don't lika eel, but don't tell Rafa, ok?); we finished with ensaimadas. I never had such sweetness before and now it's my favorite kind of food. When I slipped off to the Bitc Ladies Room after we ate, I was horrified to see a white ring around my mouth. Not to worry, tho, it was confectionary sugar. LOL. Then Rafa stuck me in his pocket and took me home. Photo by C Verwaal

Murray confident after Nadal win

-('')- La La La lalalala! I caaaaaan't HEAR youuuuuu! La LA La la LA! -(")- *taking fingers out of my ears now*... (")
Soooo.. Andy Murray is showing his mettle off the starting line. Woo-woo! Maybe he holds adrenaline like a camel. We'll see. Meanwhile, Rafa is just warming up - so don't hold your breath waiting for Murray to be the Nadal copycat of 2009. The way I look at it is Murray still has something to prove while Rafa, and Roger Federer for that matter, have already proven their tennis prowess. Both men have the capability of flattening any opponent on the court, and just like any tennis great, will have good days and bad days. That's why I had to chuckle at this line by Murray:
"When we play in the Australian Open, I know I'll be able to beat him in a tight match," said the Scot.
What sparkling confidence! Good for heem. But my Ruffie thinks he played very well for having been out for several months with his knee injury and he said that thees match "was a very good test for the knee. It was two hour 45 minutes of high-quality (tennis), and I'm feeling very well."
Yes, Rafa is feeling.. mahvelous, my dears. So watch out, Andy! This is just the beginning of thees 2009 season; Rafa ees just begun!
My friend Juan, on the left, thinks we should all calm down and give the new kid on the block some room to prove he has what it takes and both Fed and Rafa want competitve players and not an easy trounce on the court.. hey, don't look at me! Give Juan the what-not!!

Rafa Nadal to Aussie Open next month

Rich, over at Down the Line! got a jump on me on his Video Vault. He's running a reel on Rafa in Nike's 2009 Spring Collection that he'll be wearing at the Aussie Open next month. You know I hate those Nike nappies on him! I have nothing against Nike personally - they offer great products that suit other players just honkey-dorey. Rafa isn't one of them, tho. I'm trying to talk Rafa out of this gig, but he can be pretty bull-headed at times, so... but I'll see what I can do! Anyway, go have a look-see at Down the Line! for Rafa's fashion show. Just don't tell me what ya think about Rafa's bod enclothed in them, fair?

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone! Are you broke yet? Did you blow all your hard-earned dough and not get a gift from that one special person? I hate that! Guess what?!? I still have all my moolah. I just got out of prison, er, I mean the hellhole. They put me in that box. I did solitary, too. I just got out - so I didn't go Christmas shopping. And, guess what? It feels good, man. Instead, I get to loll around tomorrow thinking about what Christmas means to me.. instead of tearing open paper-crap only to find the same ol' bone they gave me last year! hmmm... less see now.. I got me 5 bones.. and.. 3.. rattles. I think the rattles were for the kid. The kid got my bones. I hate that kid. Just kidding. I don't hate anyone. I mean, what would Jesus do? Jesus would say 'Peace be with you'. That means all of us ought to live in peace. Everybody helping everybody else. Hate's bad for you. Badder than not getting any presents under the tree. Just kidding. What could be badder than not getting any presents under the tree? That's right!!! Not having a tree! I got me a tree. See!? And, if you'll notice, there's no gifts under the tree. But.. Don't cry for me, Argentina! Even if there's no bone under the tree.. I can still eat the Christmas bulbs! Just kidding. I'm not that stupid. I meant, I'll eat the tinsel. Ho! Ho! Ho! No, I don't need any gifts under the tree to celebrate the birth of Jesus. His birth is written in my heart. I'm a Christian dog, just like my Bro, Rascal. Rascal is a practicing, praying Christian furkid. We go to church together when we can. And, yes, we know there are dogs in heaven. We love Jesus because He loves all creation. Trixie and me and some of our friends went to Rafa's Christmas Party tonight. Photo by EllenJo on Flickr Photo by Flinschrod on Flickr At his party, Rafa presented me with a gift as soon as we were able to slip away from his guests. We went out on the veranda and stood near the railing holding paws hands. Our eyes locked for what seemed like an eternity; the spell broken only as he slid his gift into my paws. I didn't open it there; I was afraid someone might see me unwrapping his gift and then *POW* all those dern light bulbs start going off..soooo.. I just quickly licked his cheek and we went back inside to dance. the. tango. And tangle we did. Then the rumba. I had to kick off my heels. The samba dislocated my hips; that was the end of our dancing. Where that ended, drinking began. First I sipped some milk out of my slipper.. and eventually wound up gulping all the rummed-up egg nog I could find in the house. O, Lordy. That was a mistake. After several hours, I had to call it "a night" and Ruffie summoned the limo to take me and my honchos back to the hacienda. I was a fright to see, they tell me. By the way, do I look fat in this outfit?!? Photo by Whitogreen on Flickr The last straw was when some big ol' fat, bearded guy swooped me up in his arms as I was about to relieve myself under his chair, I guess,, .. and I swear he had me ina choke hold,, swearing under his breath, calling me a ho. But I really don't remember too much about that last hour at the party, but Rafa called me this morning to tell me he loved the pic of me on Santa's lap. Ho! Ho! Ho! Photo by Byron Raphael on Flickr I hope you're better behaved than me and don't you dare drink and drive. Have a good one, All.
