The way Contessa ChiChi sees it, Andy Roddick has upped his game - a lot - over this year. Roddick is back! He's destined to whoop some asset belong to other baller, si? Too bad Roddick play aggressively and manage to zap Raffie out of hees comfort zone using different strategy. Roddick lost to Raffie the last 3 matches they played. Today, Andy say, 'Enough! Today ees my day and my win!' Good for you, Andy! Someday, at sometime, somewhere you might be member in my Raffie's league.

Image by squiggledoo Hola, mis amigos! Wasn't the match between my Rafa and Monfils a great run? Rafa looks like the champion we have come to know and love, yes? I was overjoyed with Rafa's performance; tentative at the beginning as compared to Monfils' early, energetic start, taking the first set. Then Monfils started to flag and self-destruct as Rafa became stronger and surer as the match progressed. It appears to me that Monfils is a sprinter compared to Rafa who is good for the long run! And who do you suppose Rafa's smiles were aimed at? Hmm.. ;>

Contessa ChiChi goes incognito (again!)

Rafa will start training Monday for Montreal

Si! Eet ees true! We are Rafa ees getting in shape for Montreal where my Ruffie ees the defending champion! I'm packing, already. Si! Yesterday, Rafa's sexy strong knees were examined and deemed ready for further action, so hees returning to training on Monday next. Hurrah! He's been itching to go rounds and now he geet the go-ahead for knees. I can't wait to travel again. Montreal ees great place for tennis and food and tour of architecture. Montreal ees verry grounded and centered, has an olde feeling about eet, capisce?

"The evolution of his injury is positive and the player will continue with his physiotherapy and muscular work and will resume his tennis activity in a progressive way starting next Monday July 20th, estimating his return to competition on August 8th at the Montreal event," said Angel Ruiz-Cotorro, Rafa's doctor. Rafa Nadal: "I am happy with the way the tests went and with the positive evolution of the injury as the doctors said. I am really looking forward to practicing again and to do what I like to do the most: to play tennis. The event in Montreal is important and I expect to be there fit to play. Until then I need to continue to work on my recovery and practice well."

Of course we took advantage of thees down time to take een some swim time, you asked. But you know, I have to protect myself from too much sun, and so I had to peek out a suitable bathing suit. Rafa wasn't too crazy about eet..,

Rafa Nadal - 5th Monte Carlo Win!

CELEBRATE! CELEBRATE! DANCE TO THE MUSIC! Rafa has done it again, mis amigos! Now he has 5 Monte Carlo wins! And - he's also equaled Roger Federer with 14 Masters Series titles! Way to GO, Rafa! Vamos, Rafa! (Excusa para nosotros un minuto! *sonrojar* we are having a wee celebratory smooch.) I knew Rafa could and would win! Although the match with Novak Djokovic was not an easy won (making more errors than he usually does, initially, in thees opening game), but he rallies with his trademark forehand to help heem break to love in game 5 and from there he went straight out for another 4 games to take thees set! It was pretty hairy for me to watch Novak capture the 2nd set, but he didn't use his advantage to his best ability. Dear Rafa came back like a wrecking ball in the 3rd! Okay, okay! So, Contessa is committing hyperbole crime now. I make it all better on your anti-hyperbole boo-boo now, okay? To be truthful, Novak gave Rafa a run for his moneys and no one can call Novak a slouch. Hees not #3 for looks alone, you know. He has fairly hefty bag of tricks, too. Now - you boo-hoo feel better now I kiss it? All riiiiight! Whew! Now Rafa's off to Barcelona (with ChiChi, we theenk..;>) to compete for a fifth successive title win after wheech it'sa Roma for the Rome Masters! Wheeeeeeeeee!

First things first! You may already know my Rafa is through to the Monte Carlo Masters quarter-finals *grin* after beating Ecuadorian Nicolas Lapentti, 6-3, 6-0; this, after the match was held over due to rain Thursday. Pero, que vida! Rafa has now secured his 24th straight victory! Hurra! Look, I know he appeared a little out of sync coming into his previous round against Argentine Juan Ignacio Chela but you saw how he returned to form towards the end of the match. That'sa my Rafie, Oooolala. But that's not what I'm yapping about now - now it's about Rafa hammering Ivan Ljubicic as I speak (type, you goon!); 6-3, 5-2! World #66, Ljubicic, just came off a win over Italian Simone Bolelli, 7-5, 7-6, under 2 hours. Baaaaa, maybe he be tired and no match for Rafa. heeeeeeeya-haha..chichichi...si? Do I see a semi-finals!! Aye-aye-aye!

Oooooo, I'm so excited I'm going to burst! Rafa is victorious over Davydenko, winning 6-2, 6-3, in the Capitala World Tennis Championship semi-final in Abu Dhabi, UAE on Friday! Davydenko started by breaking Rafa in thees first game taking away any point, but Rafa came back quickly and tromped Davydenko taking the first set 6-2. Davydenko broke Rafa in thees second set, too, but that only fired Rafa up and he took off like a rocket to win 6-3! You GO, Rafa! He's off to thees final to face off weeth #4 Andy Murray after he prevailed in 3 sets 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) against Roger Federer. We can say Friday's win is a stunning start to thees 2009 season for Rafa! Now - before anyone comes to Contessa ChiChi too eager to gossip about Down-the-Line! catching singer Shakira flirting weeth my Rafa at thees game - I know, I know, the photo shows Shakira looking a little too interested at Rafa for MY comfort - and - Down the Line! hinting that Xisca could take Shak down if she makes a move on Rafa - well, what about thees? What about Contessa ChiChi taking them both down for moving in on my territory, hunh?! Lissen, I ask you, does Rafa look jubilant to you in this photo with Xisca? No. I didn't theenk so. On the other hand, when he's with me, hes little gorgeous, Contessa ChiChi - l-oo-k how happy and affectionate he is!! Need I say anything more?! No. I didn't theenk so. You Won't Believe What Happened to MI..!!!

O, the trauma! O, the humilitation! The hor-rors! O, that dirty, dirty box! Bwaaaaaaarrr! OMG! My friends. My furfriends. My poor, poor, bruised pysche! Thank gawd for Trixie. Trixie.. Trixie.. my good and faithful *gasp* Trixie! I'm in your debt. (I will find a way to pay it.. believe me. The thought of you holding anything over me,, is, well,, *retch*) Okay. Okay! You want to know what happened. (omg,, the trauma,,) Halloween. It happened on Halloween night,, walking back to my digs. I was snatched by the Animal Catcher *ack* and slammed into a box into the back of a van!

I don't know how long I was in that frickin dern box before I was thrown into th.. th.. that cage. I was so inconsolable because the cage was dirty - and it smelled, too. I'm sure it's an old technique to make you puke so they can blame that on you, too! Thus, necessitating another round of beatings.. (/sarcasm)

I was blindfolded and moved to another facility. I was so,, so scared. Trembling, too!

I don't know how long I was imprisoned in this dreadful hellhole before Trixie found out who had snatched me and where they threw me into the brig. She got a band of brothers (BOB) together to bust me out! Kewl. They were cute, too.

I felt like a fool when Trixie told me I had to put on a stupid camouflage outfit because my BOB was coming in on an Onassis barge. They were taking advantage *rolling eyes* of the waterway running through the dogpound hellhole I was hostage to *bwarrr*

All this time nobody knew where I was: not my family, not my friends, and especially, not my Ruffie! I missed his matches and he missed my adoration - I'm positive of this!

Whirlwind weeks with Ruffie!

Okay, okay..(pant,pant)..it's been weeks since you've heard from me! So sorry, sorry, sorry! Time's gone by in a blur! I've been so busy going from one event to the next - all culminating in Today's celebration of the opening of the Tennis Master Series event in Madrid and its accompanying spectacular ceremony for Rafa's amazing, supercalifragilistic 2008 season as Numero Uno tennis player in the world!! (swoon) ATP president, Etienne De Villers will present Rafa with the "trophy that will forever remind him of his spectacular achievement as the new best tennis player in the world!" The Mutua Masters Series Madrid starts tomorrow and will finish at the finals next Sunday the 19th - so don't forget to send all your air-love and support to Rafa during the week! Pleeeeeese! I've been on holiday; Rafa said just the other day that, "I'm feeling great physically, that week of holidays I just had helped me out a lot as well and I trust I will be ready for my debut. I will give 100% as I usually do at every tournament." If you've forgotten, last year's tournament was a stunning upset! Roger Federer was #1 seed with Rafa as #2 but my Rafa lost to David Nalbandian in the quarterfinals, which stunned all. This year, Rafa is ready to win! And remember, Rafa is "in" for the year-end championship in Shanghai! Who knows, my fellow chichis, we might see a Rafa/Federer finish at Shanghai! Yesterday, Rafa took time from training to attend clothing line, Hugo Boss, event where Rafa was handed a check for 20.8114 euros for his humanitarian efforts through his Rafa Nadal Foundation which was unveiled this past February! (My Ruffie has a big heart!) Rafa Nadal Foundation helps kids with disabilities and kids in third world countries - which is great! (We could be one, too, before too long!) It's taking a while for some projects to get off the ground due to Rafa's busy schedule, but hey, he's committed to its success so it's gonna happen big..:) Earlier, Rafa was victorious over American Andy Roddick which propels Spain into the Davis Cup final. He played an almost perfect game! Even Rafa was shocked by some of the winners he played (but I'm not..:) I'm so proud of my Rafa for this big win for his country! Next stop for the Spaniards will be against Argentina, who will host the final for the David Cup Title from Nov. 21-23rd. Now Rafa has a chance to lead his country to a 3rd Davis Cup crown and the first since 2004. See? Now you see why my Rafa wears the Top Tennis crown, si? I luv my Rafa. You know you do, too.
